Founded in 1994, the Rostock University of Music and Theatre is a sought-after and international training centre for music, drama, music teaching, theatre teaching and musicology. With over 300 events a year, it enriches the cultural life of the city and region. Its building in the eastern part of the city centre is a particular attraction. Since 2001, it has been based in a former Franciscan monastery from the middle of the 13th century. Following its restoration, it offers exceptionally beautiful rooms with its cloisters, halls and library.
