Museum/Collection Point of Interest

At the OZEANEUM on Stralsund's harbour island, museum visitors embark on a journey through the northern oceans. The largest of a total of 50 aquariums holds 2.6 million litres of water and its 50 m² panoramic window provides a view of an impressive animal world. The "1:1 Giants of the Seas" exhibition shows full-size replicas of whales and other giants of the seas. Don't miss: a visit to the Humboldt penguins on the roof terrace with a unique panoramic view.

The MEERESMUSEUM in Stralsund's old town, the foundation's headquarters, is expected to remain closed for renovation work until summer 2024.

The NATUREUM is located right next to the Darßer Ort lighthouse, near Prerow. This natural history museum in the "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft" National Park shows exhibitions on the Darßer Ort natural area, the Baltic Sea coast and the animals of the region.
