We invite you to actively and consciously move and immerse yourself in the soothing atmosphere of the Stoltera nature reserve. Take your time and discover the beauty of nature and the beneficial effects of the sea air and the forest.

Start your tour on Thalasso Therapy Trail 2 at the Sommerweg / Parkstraße car park, where you cross Doberaner Landstraße in the direction of the beach. Here you will find an information board about the thalasso therapy trails in Warnemünde and walk down to the fine sandy Baltic Sea beach at beach access 26. "Walking on the beach" is an effective preventative measure for our health and well-being - so if the weather and temperatures allow, take off your shoes before you set off westwards - preferably directly along the edge of the surf.

After approx. 1.5 kilometres, the signs lead you up a flight of steps into the coastal forest of the Stoltera nature reserve. Here, both the Wilhelmshöhe restaurant (a short diversions from the signposts) and the small Fuchsbar beer garden invite you to take a break and stop for refreshments.

From the Fuchsbar, follow the forest path and after 600 metres you will reach the seaside resort of Diedrichshagen. The former village was founded in 1771 and incorporated into the Hanseatic city of Rostock in 1934. Together with the districts of Warnemünde, Markgrafenheide and Hohe Düne, it was awarded the title of "state-recognised seaside resort" in 1996. As the crow flies, it is only about 1 kilometre to the Baltic Sea! Via Stolteraer Weg (approx. 1.4 kilometres) and Groß Kleiner Weg (approx. 750 metres) you return to the starting point. The last few metres along the Doberaner Landstraße are on footpaths and cycle paths. End your hike on the beach and enjoy once again the wide view that opens up to the east and west.

Be careful when crossing the Doberaner Landstraße at the start and finish of the tour.

Information & tips on climatic hiking and walking

  1. Exercise in the fresh air is good for every body at any age and in every season.
  2. Walking on the forest floor is more sheltered from the wind and sun than on the beach. The atmosphere of the forest allows the body to rest more quickly.
  3. The air in the surf zone is in constant motion and contains maritime aerosol, the effect of which is similar to a natural inhaler.
  4. The sea edge is the zone with the highest air purity, which is particularly suitable for allergy sufferers.
  5. A walk on the beach against the wind strains and trains the joints and muscles more than a hike on solid forest ground.
  6. When climate hiking, wear sportswear and sturdy shoes appropriate to the season.
