Start your tour at the tourist information centre, from where it is only a few steps to one of the most popular photo spots in Warnemünde: The railway bridge, which connects the Mittelmole with the Alter Strom, is ideal for a first stop for a souvenir photo. Back on "Am Strom", turn left and pass the Vogtei, the oldest building in Warnemünde. Continue along the Alter Strom and you will find the Edvard Munch House at Am Strom 53.

Walk through a small alley, Querstraße II. It connects Alter Strom with Alexandrinenstraße, where fishermen, sailors and pilots used to live in the pretty houses and it is worth following Alexandrinenstraße for about 200 metres before turning right in direction to Kirchenstraße and Promenade. The local history museum and the water fountain with bronze figures on the right-hand side of the street, which is dedicated to the traditional Warnemünde way of life, provide a good insight into the traditions of the seaside resort. After passing the fountain, turn right into Querstraße V. This will take you back to Alter Strom, a colourful promenade with captains' and fishermen's houses, cafés, pubs and boutiques.

Stroll up Alter Strom to the Westmole. It leads over 500 metres out onto the Baltic Sea. As you stroll back, keep to the right at the end of the pier and you will come directly to the lighthouse and the Teepott - Warnemünde's most famous landmarks. You can climb the lighthouse for a breathtaking view. With a fresh breeze around your nose and the Baltic Sea in view, stroll along the wide promenade for around 500 metres before turning left towards the Kurhaus and Kurpark. Events take place in the concert shell from May to September and the shady benches invite you to linger before you stroll through the pedestrian zone towards the church square and the neo-Gothic church in the centre of the seaside resort.

A few steps further on, you have reached the starting point of the city walk and we invite you to explore the central pier with the fish market and the Neuer Strom. From the "Neuer Strom", today's Rostock harbour entrance, you can take the ferry to Hohe Düne or take a passenger ship towards Rostock's old town. At Pier 7, the cruise terminal, thousands of cruise guests embark and disembark every year. The railway station with regular S-Bahn (suburbain train) connections to Rostock and long-distance services is also located on Mittelmole.
