Audio Guide Warnemünde - Station 13: Neuer Strom

From the Neuer Strom, you can see a ship passing through the harbour entrance. The large ferries to Scandinavia sail here every day. From April to October, majestic cruise ships also dock at the passenger quay. Rostock-Warnemünde is one of the most popular and important cruise ports in the southern Baltic Sea. Experience the giants of the oceans live.

Ship trips to Rostock’s city harbour also start at Neuer Strom and the ferry connects Warnemünde with Hohe Düne and Markgrafenheide.

Tip: Take a detour to the Ostmole and the seal research station at the Marine Science Center.

Our tour ends here at Neuer Strom. We hope you had an entertaining and exciting tour with our audio guide through the seaside resort of Warnemünde. You can learn many more entertaining anecdotes and of course historical background about the seaside resorts and the city on one of our public city tours. We will be happy to advise you on the respective offers at the Tourist Information.

We thank you and wish you a pleasant stay in the beautiful Hanseatic and university city of Rostock.

The well-developed A19 and A20 motorways and numerous roads lead you directly to Rostock. You can easily reach Warnemünde via the city motorway. The Warnow Tunnel (TOLL) is the fastest connection across the Warnow.

For parking, we recommend the designated car parks and multi-storey car parks at the entrance to Warnemünde.

The seaside resort of Warnemünde is also well connected to public transport. The S-Bahn (suburban train) runs regularly from Rostock main station to Warnemünde Werft or Warnemünde station. Buses and the ferry from Hohe Düne will also take you to the seaside resort.

Warnemünde can also be reached by Flixbus, which stops at Warnemünde Werft. From here it is a 15-minute walk (1 kilometre) to the start/end point of the city tour at the tourist information office.
