Thalasso Therapy Trail 9 - Warnemünde seaside resort
Tourismuszentrale Rostock & WarnemündeAm Strom 59, 18119 Rostock
Directions
Walk (in suitable weather conditions directly in the surf zone) approx. 4.8 km to the west. You will soon find yourself in the middle of the Stoltera nature reserve, which is characterised by the impressive north-facing cliffs, the beach and the coastal forest. The 83-hectare nature reserve stretches between Geinitzort in the west and the entrance to the seaside resort of Warnemünde.
Shore swallows breed in the cliff; elderberry, sea buckthorn bushes, sal willow and trembling poplar grow on the edge of the cliff. The majority of the coastal forest is made up of mixed deciduous forest with copper beech, hornbeam, pedunculate oak and birch.
At beach access 38, leave the beach via the steps and turn right towards Hotel Ostseeland. Here you can plan a short stopover and have a snack at the "Kleiner Diedrich". Leave the hotel grounds via the exit and follow Stolteraer Weg for approx. 200 metres. Turn left towards Küstenwald and at the first junction turn right onto the forest path towards Warnemünde until you reach the Wilhelmshöhe hotel and excursion restaurant. Here you can take another break on the wonderful panoramic terrace with a view of the Baltic Sea and Warnemünde. Then take the steps next to the aviary to get back to the beach and walk back to the Hotel Neptun (beach access 10) close to the surf. From here, it is only a short walk along Kurhausstraße until you reach your starting point "Kurpark" again on the left-hand side.

Information & tips on climatic hiking and walking
- Exercise in the fresh air is good for every body at any age and in every season.
- Walking on the forest floor is more sheltered from the wind and sun than on the beach. The atmosphere of the forest allows the body to rest more quickly.
- The air in the surf zone is in constant motion and contains maritime aerosol, the effect of which is similar to a natural inhaler.
- The sea edge is the zone with the highest air purity, which is particularly suitable for allergy sufferers.
- A walk on the beach against the wind strains and trains the joints and muscles more than a hike on solid forest ground.
- When climate hiking, wear sportswear and sturdy shoes appropriate to the season.
